European Rapid&Blitz Chess Championship 2023 – Official invitation

The 2023 European Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships will take place from 14-17 December in Zagreb, Croatia.

The first event on the schedule will be the European Rapid Chess Championship 2023 which will be played on 14-15 December, in 11 rounds, swiss system. The time control of the event will be 15 minutes + 10 seconds increment. The total prize fund of the event will be 30.000 EUR.

The European Blitz Chess Championship 2023 will be played on December 16th, in 13 single rounds, with the time control of 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment. The Blitz Championship will feature the total prize fund of 15.000 EUR.

Participation is open to all players representing one of the ECU federations (FIDE Zones 1.1 to 1.10), regardless of title and ranking. The registration deadline is extended to 5th of December, 2023, and players should register by sending an e-mail to the organizer – hss.crochess@gmail.com.

The organizer will provide free accommodation for the ten top players. Interested players rated above 2650 rating should send an inquiry through the official email. 

The championships will be held at the Zagreb Fair, pavilion 10a.
