Carlsen, Nakamura und Firouzja treten für die stärkste Bullet-Schachmeisterschaft aller Zeiten an

Chess.com’s blistering Bullet Chess Championship is back with a star-studded posse of the fastest gunslingers in the game ready to duel.

This year’s 1-minute chess tournament, which runs July 17 to 21, boasts its strongest line-up ever.

World number 1 GM Magnus Carlsen, reigning champion and legendary streamer GM Hikaru Nakamura, and the young hotshot GM Alireza Firouzja have all put their hats in for the $100,000 prize pool event.

These three are widely considered to be the strongest bullet players on the planet and this will be the first time that all three are playing in this event together.

GM Andrew Tang, the brilliant 23-year-old bullet chess specialist from Illinois, will be gunning for revenge over Nakamura, who defeated him 11-8 in a thrilling final last year.

Another big contender on the roster is GM Daniel Naroditsky, who warmed up for the event by putting in an electric performance to win his first Bullet Brawl on Saturday ahead of Carlsen and Nakamura. The 2023 Bullet Chess Championship will be further intensified with the presence of GMs Anish Giri and Eric Hansen.

Three qualifiers open to all titled players will be held this week with with six places in the main event up for grabs. They will take place on Thursday, July 6 at 9 a.m. PT/18:00 CEST and two on July 7: 9 a.m. PT/18:00 CEST and 12 a.m. PT/21:00 CEST.

In the main event, 16 players in total will compete in a double-elimination bracket with the winner taking home $20,000.

All games are 1+0, and matches are 30 minutes long with a break at the 15-minute mark. In the event of a tie, players continue to play, alternating colors, until a player wins a game.

The live broadcast will be aired on Chess.com/TV or on our Twitch channel with expert commentary provided by Chess.com’s team. You can also catch all our live broadcasts on YouTube.com/ChesscomLive and keep up with every detail of the event on Chess.com/Events.
